Each of our guestrooms has a journal for sharing your experience at the Candlelight and in Red Wing and the surrounding region. Our guests find this to be an invaluable source of information on where to go and what to see. Here are just a few comments that have been shared:

January 2017: “We loved our stay at the Candlelight Inn.  The Victorian home, with many of the original details, is a gorgeous house and a fun experience.  The breakfast was outstanding.  The owner is a wonderful cook/chef and the breakfast setting is exquisite.  We would recommend the Candlelight B&B to everyone as a great get-a-way. April 2014:  “This was an awesome experience. The Inn is exceptionally well managed, very warm and inviting. We were welcomed with a trolley of snacks and wines, food was plentiful and delicious and the house was very well maintained and impeccably clean.”

“This is a beautiful house. The woodwork and attention to detail are exceptional. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast, the piano music, and the fascinating history of the house. We will definitely tell others about this place, and hopefully come back again.”

“We just spent a fabulous night here and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy room, wonderful breakfast and Lynette’s gracious hospitality. We wish we would have stayed two nights. Thank you so much for showing us such a great time and sharing your beautiful home with us. Our first bed and breakfast experience couldn’t have been better!”

“We certainly enjoyed our stay here. We’re celebrating 21 years together, and this was a wonderful place to renew our love and friendship. We hiked Barn Bluff and saw bald eagles soaring over the river. Thanks for all the little extras. They really added up to show how much you care about your guests, Lynette.”
Jim and Jean Clarkes, Grove City, MN

“We’ve had a delightful mini-vacation. The fireplace, the whirlpool – need I say more? It is so nice to get away from the television and phone. The sound of the train whistle added to the feeling of “days gone by.” Breakfast was delicious, too. Thanks for all the good food and conversation. Now back to reality… “
Ginny and Bill, West St. Paul

“We spent two nights at this charming B & B. It was very relaxing and the hospitality and the food beyond compare. Besides walking through the shops on Main Street, we biked the Cannon Valley Trail and will play golf at Mississippi National. Thanks for sharing your town and your home with us.”

“We really needed to get away and spend some time to relax and be with each other. This was a wonderful place to do just that. We ate at the Staghead on Friday – excellent food – and spent Saturday on the Spirit of the Water at Treasure Island. This boat trip up the Mississippi was very relaxing with beautiful scenery. We highly recommend it.”

“Thank you for your hospitality and opening your beautiful home to us. We received a gift certificate from some loving friends for a much-needed break. We couldn’t have found a better place if we would have chosen it ourselves! The warmth and peacefulness of our suite, the wonderful food, and kind people made our stay quite memorable – not to mention being able to use the bathroom without the audience of two toddlers! We look forward to returning.”
